This 140-foot superyacht wants to be the first place where billionaires come to sleep, not party, pairing a 270-degree beach club and world-class spa with handmade Savoir beds aboard Dutch Design’s limited-run Sea Rover

A new yacht brings with it the promise of adventure, good times, and the good life. But what about good sleep? Dutch Design, the Amsterdam-based marine innovation studio behind the Sea Rover, believes rest should be just as essential as recreation. Building a total of just 10 of these welness-focued superyachts, the firm has made quality sleep non-negotiable by entering into a multi-year partnership with Savoir Beds, which will furnish every Sea Rover with bespoke handmade mattresses.

For Dutch Design, longevity is not limited to a spa menu or a plunge pool. On the 140-foot, 480 GT Sea Rover, it begins with uninterrupted sleep, which the company treats as a cornerstone of wellness aboard what it calls the “world’s only wellness-first yacht.” With more than a century of craftsmanship behind it, British bedmaker Savoir brings a legacy that began at London's Savoy Hotel, where proprietor Richard D’Oyly Carte commissioned a mattress designed to revolutionize comfort.

Today, that same obsession with sleep has found its way onto some of the world’s largest superyachts, and now it will be an integral part of every Sea Rover. Dutch Design founder Scott Blum and designer Bernd Weel clearly understood that on a yacht built around recovery and well-being, a Savoir bed should feel as essential as a world-class spa.

Savoir’s role goes beyond supplying luxurious mattresses. The brand also brings marine-specific expertise, creating yacht-tailored sleep solutions such as shaped mattresses, split bases, and installations designed for difficult onboard access. Handmade from natural materials such as horsetail, wool, cashmere, and cotton, Savoir mattresses are prized for their softness, breathability, and resilient support. “Dutch Design’s wellness-first ambition echoes our clients’ insistence on land-equivalent restoration at sea,” says Hughes, co-owner and director. “We are privileged to realize that vision.” Sea Rover owners and guests can expect temperature-balanced nights, restorative support, and the quiet luxury of deep sleep amid vast ocean expanses.

The yacht itself packs an impressive amount into its 140-foot frame. It accommodates 12 guests in five staterooms and nine crew, while the lower deck features a 270-degree fold-out beach club, guest cabins with direct access to it, and a glass-lit engine room that turns the vessel’s mechanical heart into part of the visual experience. The bridge deck houses a well-appointed sport court, gym, and spa, all served with panoramic sea views. The sundeck, meanwhile, is designed for both entertainment and respite, with a jacuzzi, barbecue, wet bar, lounge areas, and a light-funneling sky-view stairwell that makes it one of the yacht’s most pleasant spaces.

The interiors also play an important role in the yacht’s wellness-first philosophy. Calming materials, muted tones, and a minimal design language help shape an atmosphere centered on recovery and not just blatant excess. Extending that approach outdoors, performance-driven Loro Piana fabrics will grace the exterior, chosen for both their elegance and resilience in marine conditions. The same calmness is experienced in the world class spa, with hot and cold plunges, a steam room, sauna, light therapy, and a massage table. The gym, on the other hand, is a full-size custom-designed space by Polish brand PENT. After all that activity, Savoir Beds ensures that rest will be guaranteed. Construction on the first 140-footer began in October 2025, with Dutch Design now revealing more of the yacht’s design details ahead of its targeted April 2028 delivery.
