The world of yachting is seeing innovation on multiple levels. We’re witnessing incredible creativity, like a concept yacht changing the meaning of elevators and superyachts managed by AI. Yacht builders are seeking ways to meet the rapidly growing demand and are going the extra mile to differentiate their offerings. That’s great news for consumers.

Dutch Design, a new entrant to the yacht-building world, is stepping into this innovative space with the announcement of the Sea Rover, a groundbreaking 42.5-meter vessel that emphasizes wellness above other priorities.

The yacht offers features usually only seen in 300-foot plus megayachts in a 140-foot design. Created through the collaboration of yacht owner Scott Blum and award-winning designer Bernd Weel, the Sea Rover is the world’s first wellness-first yacht, promising an unparalleled maritime lifestyle focused on health and relaxation.

A Design Masterpiece

The Sea Rover’s structure uses high-grade steel and aluminum, ensuring durability while maintaining a luxurious finish. Its sleek and minimalist design is visual evidence of the brilliance of Dutch craftsmanship.

It features a sweeping line from the vertical bow to the stern, with a contemporary look that is both timeless and functional. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer expansive views of the ocean, seamlessly blending the interior with the surroundings. The interior has a California-inspired decor with natural materials like wood, stone, and earthy textiles creating an inviting and tranquil ambiance.

Wellness and Lifestyle at the Core

At the heart of the Sea Rover’s appeal is its wellness focus. The bridge deck is dedicated to fitness and relaxation, featuring a gym equipped with top-tier equipment from brands like Technogym, Peloton, and Pent. These offer a state-of-the-art workout environment while enjoying 360-degree views of the sea. Other wellness amenities include a jacuzzi, a sauna, a dual hot and cold plunge pool, an infrared therapy wall, and a dedicated massage area.

For outdoor activities, the bridge deck also features a convertible sports court capable of hosting pickleball, paddle tennis, basketball, or volleyball games. This versatile area doubles as a storage space for large water toys like jet skis, tenders, and even a car if you’re so inclined.

A Beach Club Like No Other

Aft, you have a spacious beach club with foldable platforms that create a vast swimming area. Equipped with sunbeds, a dining table, a wet bar, and storage for water toys, this area serves as a social hub for guests. The 270-degree view from the beach club further enhances the connection to the sea, with the perfect setting for relaxation and leisure activities.

Dining and Living Spaces

The Sea Rover’s main deck features an open-plan grand room that integrates the dining and entertaining areas. The panoramic glass panels allow guests to savor stunning ocean views while enjoying meals prepared in the state-of-the-art galley. Equipped with Miele appliances and a Sub-Zero refrigerator, the kitchen is designed for interaction and allows chefs to engage with guests during culinary experiences.

A standout feature is the Sky View Stairwell, a unique central staircase with a glass-topped design that allows natural light to flow through all decks. This architectural innovation transforms traditionally dark interior spaces into bright, welcoming areas.

Luxurious Cabins

The Sea Rover accommodates up to 10 guests across five luxurious cabins. The owner’s suite, located forward of the main deck, offers full-beam space with large glass panels for panoramic views. It features a steam room, a Japanese onsen-style tub, and one of the largest closets in its class. Four additional guest cabins provide ample storage and direct access to the beach club via a unique engine room passage.

Another unique feature of the Sea Rover is the design of the crew quarters. At the insistence of Scott Blum, these match the quality of the guest rooms and house nine members of staff in top-notch comfort. Everybody on this vessel gets to enjoy premium cabins.

Another point of emphasis is the increased amount of storage when compared to vessels in its class. Dutch Design claims that closet space is as much as triple the average size.

Engineering Excellence

In a bold departure from traditional yacht design, the Sea Rover incorporates its engine room and wheelhouse into the onboard experience. Guests can view the engine room through a glass hallway, which doubles as a passage to the beach club. This unique feature turns the technical heart of the yacht into a point of fascination.

Exclusive Ownership Experience

With production limited to 10 vessels, the Sea Rover is designed for exclusivity and bespoke customization, allowing owners to select finishes and colors to suit their preferences.

The unique experience of owning a Sea Rover starts long before the vessel is completed. Dutch Design offers prospective buyers the opportunity to work closely with the design team, enjoy curated tours of Holland, and receive concierge services that reflect the exclusivity of the Sea Rover experience.
