The British heritage marque, Savoir Beds, famed for its contribution to the Savoy’s golden era, will make its presence felt on all ten Dutch Design Sea Rover yachts with handmade mattresses that marry breathable natural materials to holistic maritime living.
Dutch Design, the Amsterdam-based marine innovation studio behind the Sea Rover wellness-first yacht concept, has entered into a multi-year partnership with Savoir Beds to furnish all 10 vessels with bespoke, handmade mattresses. This alliance places quality sleep at the forefront of longevity, uniting British upholstery heritage dating to 1905 with visionary yachting that prioritises holistic wellbeing at sea. Scott Blum, an American businessman and seasoned yacht owner, founded Dutch Design alongside award-winning designer Bernd Weel. Their Sea Rover compresses the amenities of a 300-foot superyacht into a nimble 140-foot form, delivering active luxury without excess.
Construction began in October 2025 with hull turning; the first vessel is expected to be ready for delivery in April 2028. Paula Bruss, the California interior designer, collaborates closely with Blum and Weel, specifying Loro Piana fabrics for outdoor resilience, Moore Giles leather-detailed carpets, and refined pieces from In Common With, Audo Copenhagen, CeramicaH, and Michael Anastassiades. These choices evoke Dutch restraint while withstanding the demands of the sea.
