Dutch Design, a marine innovation studio at the forefront of cutting-edge technology and sustainable living, has unveiled its debut project: the Sea Rover. This 42.5-meter yacht integrates the sophistication of larger vessels into an intimate design, marking a significant evolution in the yachting industry. The venture reflects the shared vision of Scott Blum, an experienced yacht owner, and Bernd Weel, an award-winning yacht designer. Their collaboration has culminated in the creation of the world’s first wellness-first yacht, setting a new benchmark in maritime luxury. With only 10 bespoke vessels planned, each Sea Rover offers a semi-custom experience, ensuring exclusivity and a tailored journey for its owners.

The Sea Rover’s sleek design is both modern and functional, featuring minimalist aesthetics and innovative engineering. Crafted from solid steel and aluminum, its seamless exterior is defined by clean lines and a sweeping silhouette. The singular arc from the vertical bow to the stern enhances the yacht’s hydrodynamic efficiency while providing expansive walls of floor-to-ceiling windows. This thoughtful integration of form and function creates an open, inviting ambiance for guests and crew.

Inside, the yacht’s California-inspired interiors evoke a tranquil, beachy aesthetic. High-end materials, including premium woods, natural stone, and earthen-toned textiles, contribute to the serene atmosphere. The layout ensures that every element serves a purpose, marrying practicality with timeless elegance.

What truly sets the Sea Rover apart is its dedication to wellness and active living. Unlike traditional yachts, where gyms and spas are tucked into lower decks, the Sea Rover places its wellness amenities on the bridge deck. Here, guests can enjoy workouts, yoga sessions, or spa treatments while surrounded by 360-degree ocean views. Key features include:

Fully Equipped Gym: Outfitted with Technogym, Peloton, and Pent equipment.

Spa Facilities: A dual hot-and-cold plunge pool, infrared therapy wall, sauna, jacuzzi, and dedicated massage space.

Sport Court: A versatile space accommodating activities like pickleball, paddle tennis, and basketball, which also doubles as storage for large toys, tenders, or even a car.

The yacht’s expansive beach club is another highlight, designed to provide easy access to the water and accommodate a range of activities. With foldable platforms extending from both sides of the vessel, the beach club transforms into a 270-degree swimming and lounging area. Guests can enjoy meals at the dining table, sunbathe on luxurious loungers, or launch watersports equipment from the platform. Additional features include a wet bar, a day head, and ample storage for water toys.

The grand room, merging the dining and entertaining spaces, boasts panoramic glass panels for stunning ocean views. Adjacent to the dining area is a state-of-the-art galley equipped with Miele appliances and Sub-Zero refrigeration. The design encourages engagement between guests, the chef, and the crew, fostering a relaxed and inclusive dining experience.

The owner’s suite, located ahead of the main deck, offers unparalleled comfort and views. The full-beam cabin features expansive glass panels, a Japanese onsen-style bathtub, and a steam room. Four additional guest cabins provide direct access to the beach club via a unique passage through the engine room, ensuring privacy and convenience.

The crew quarters are equally well-designed, accommodating up to nine crew members. Each cabin is finished to the same high standards as the guest suites, emphasizing Scott Blum’s commitment to ensuring the comfort and happiness of his team. Features include a spacious crew mess, laundry facilities, and ample storage, with port holes providing natural light throughout.

One of the most distinctive elements of the Sea Rover is the transparent design of its engine room and wheelhouse. These typically hidden areas are transformed into immersive experiences for guests, featuring a glass hallway that allows them to observe the yacht’s technical marvels. The wheelhouse itself is outfitted with a freestanding console and comfortable seating, encouraging interaction with the captain and crew.

Dutch Design is producing a limited series of just 10 Sea Rover yachts, ensuring exclusivity for its owners. Each yacht is semi-customizable, allowing owners to select finishes and colors to match their preferences. Prospective buyers are invited to Dutch Design’s Amsterdam headquarters, a restored canal house inspired by Japanese minimalism. This unique space offers a preview of the materials, ambiance, and aesthetics that define the Sea Rover experience.

The headquarters also functions as a sanctuary for clients, complete with concierge services offering limousine transport, curated museum visits, and exclusive dining reservations. This personalized touch extends the luxury experience beyond the yacht itself.
